Hi folks,
The drought broke, which I am grateful for, but the torrent of rain has caused my passenger footwell to become wet. I already messed with the cowl drain, so I'm a little confused. Any help or suggestions I would welcome. Here's the exact details (may be important):
I was parked overnight in my driveway, with the nose of the car pointing down at a 20-degree angle or so. All windows were closed, and the doors secured and locked. When I got in the car this morning, I noticed a wet smell and saw wetness on the passenger footwell. None on the driver's side.
It's not antifreeze (!) nor does it really smell moldy, like it's been there long. It's fresh. And the headliner is dry.
My first question is, could having the car at an angle like I previously described cause the normal drainage of water to stop?
Would the cause be in, 1) the sunroof drains, 2) the cowl, even though I checked it out earlier, or 3) could the water be draining into the footwell from farther back in the car?
Thanks!
Ari
