Ok, I didnt want to buy new OEM lower control arms so I bought OEM bushings. I did a fair job with the r&r but wonder if it was worth it now. The bushings were a PITA to get in/out without the "proper" Volvo tool & later asked myself how much the tool cost vs. the agony ! The "rear" (plastic/rubber) wasnt that hard, the "front" was the pita ! I couldnt get the control arm to sit in my shop press correctly for the front bushing so I created a jig (.875 from the machined face of the control arm to the end of the inner bolt sleeve) and using trickory (Heat & Ice) I got it to within reason (+/-.010)
The main reason for doing it this way was to save some $$ & not have to buy a Volvo lower control arm or a spinoff like scan tech, etc. but let it be known, it may be worth buying the tool if you like to DIY and keep a fleet of Volvos in stock !
Vovlo for Life Right ?
Anyone have a P/N and/or price of the tool ?
