1991 240 turns over but will not start 200 1991

1991 240 has been sitting up for 6 months and will not start, engine turns over fine and with a shot of starter fluid it runs for a for a couple of seconds and dies. so where is this the best place to start to figure out the problem and how the heck do you get the rubber fuel line to disconnect from the fuel rail?
