Aftermarket stereo problems 700 1987

Hi folks,

I had mentioned earlier that I found a mismatched fuse - #5 - there was a 25A fuse in the stereo's 15A spot. I changed it out for the correct amp fuse.

I did not turn the radio on after I changed the fuse, so I don't know if the fuse was in there for a specific reason. I'll let you know if it blows when I try to listen to UFO Tofu tomorrow. ;)

The aftermarket stereo is a Kenwood 35Wx4 CD player with a removable faceplate. The rear speakers (in the rear doors) don't work, and wondered if you all thought I should investigate this. I've heard a lot of horror stories about botched stereo wiring.

One more thing: it seems the driver's side door speaker was changed for a different, new one. Would mismatched ohms cause the rear speakers not to work? I have to set the balance to 75% left in order to balance the sound to the middle.

Thanks,

Ari
