Fram oil filter & jacking the pass side up ???

I jacked the 245 up on it's passengers side just enough to get under the car easier to change oil & filter. Got the oil drained, plug back in ..now cut me a piece of cardboard ..place it under the Fram filter ...screw it off ...NO OIL IN THE FILTER to speak of.

Does this mean the Fram filter was not retaining oil within, thus having a somewhat dry start
- OR -
did my jacking the car up on the side drain the filter oil into the pan, thus making for cleaner swap out of the filter???

I think I did the same thing last time I changed the oil (that was the first time for me and a 240 series), and oil was there in the filter, doing all it can to contaminate my motor mount as it drained out!
