Charging up the A/C 200 1990

Is this right? I have to jump the wires on the condenser to start the compressor and then fill the system? My connection for charging it is on the back of the compressor. Is that where I fill it? System came out of a converted 240 so it should be ready to go. Thanks. 90 245
