Bucking between 1500 and 2000 RPM. Help! 900 1993

Ok...the title kind of says it all. When I am between 1500 and 2000 RPM my 940 turbo wagon bucks like crazy. It does not matter which gear it is in. Between 1000-1500 and 2000+ it drives like a dream.

I was thinking this must have something to do with the RPM sensor, but a quick reading of the 700/900 FAQ does not list this as a symptom of a failing/failed RPM sensor.

Any help greatly appreciated. Oh, I should add that the Check Engine light is not on.
