Transmission Leak 1983 240

I have a leak in my transmission at the split in the transmission case where the bellhousing meets the gearbox. Had replaced the speedo seal, trans pan gasket, and after a complete cleaning and running after cleaning, apparently there is a leak at this split.

Can this be fatal? Or perhaps topping off the fluid and hope for the best?
