Drive train vibration 200

Hello all-

Some time ago there were several threads on drive train vibration in 240s. I'm not sure if this has been addressed recently, but I thought I'd toss my problem into the group:

With my '93 240 wagon (5sp) I have a droning, deep vibration between 45 - 60 mph, worst under load, a little lighter when no throttle. I've eliminated the following (by replacing): U-joints, center bearing plus rubber support, transmission mount, torque rod bushings. Also, wheels recently balanced, fluid check ok in trans and differential, brakes not dragging/pulsing or showing evidence of high heat. Vibe is independent of engine revs and only in this speed range. There was some talk on this list of shimming the center bearing support, which my mechanic pooh-poohed. But has anyone had a similar problem and a definitive solution?
