hi everyone, this is my first post. i drive a 740 turbo 1989. the car has 235k's. i've owned it for about 80k's but have not had to replace any steering or suspension components yet.
for a while i've experienced a vibration when traveling on the highway while turning slightly. when i'm driving straight or turning a little harder the vibration does not happen. it is definitely coming from the front end and the steering wheel vibrates as it happens. i've been told that it could be my tie rod ends but i do not know how to inspect them. any help would be appreciated.
also, and perhaps these are related, but when going over bumps, even at low speed (like entering my driveway) i get a clunking sound. any ideas what could be causing this?
i would like to repair this myself but because of my budget i cannot afford to just go in there and replace components until the problem stops.
thanks for all your help
