coilovers on a 122 120-130

I have searched on the board about coilovers, but not found anything about it.
So I will ask. Can 122s be converted to work with coilovers and get rid of the stock springs/shocks.
I know the benefits to the coildovers are performance/ride height adjustability. and it would be cool to be able to do it.

So whats the concencus on this issue?
