hissing sound is quite annoying 900

Just bought a 960 wagon non- turbo) discover after less than a week that there is a hissing noise that you can here in the passenger compartment ... heat and A/C do not change the condition neither does change the transmission setting. At wide open throttle the hiss goes away when I let off the gas hissing starts... Where should I start this my third Volvo I've had 240's before and now am starting to get into fixing them.
