I have a newly installed set of HS6 SU carbs.
My choke cable is set up in such a way so that the choke cable moves the jets as soon as the knob is pulled from the dash. While the engine starts rather quickly, this does result in a rich mixture that eventually bogs the engine down--even when cold. What's more, I have to keep the gas pedal depressed until the car warms up because if the choke is pulled from the dash, however slightly, the engine runs too rich.
How do I adjust the choke cable so as to make the choke lever push up against the fast-idle screw BEFORE lowering the jets to enrich the mixture? In other words, is it possible for the first 1/2" of the choke knob to increase the idle speed without enrichening the mixture?
