Hi all,

I have a '90 245 w/230K. It runs great. However, the ease of starting it is not consistent. Sometimes, just the touch of the key. Other times, 2-3 attempts at 2-3 seconds each.

I was thinking Crank Position Sensor, and even ordered one since they're cheap. However, a recent thread about breaking the CPS bracket has scared me. So:

- is the CPS the culprit?
- are there any suggestions to avoid breaking the bracket during a change?
