Almost exactly 1 yr aqo I had a bad headgasket. Sudden loss of power, sudden cloud of blue smoke, gradually got to point where I had to pull over and be towed. Not sure I could do the job, I had local reputable indy shop (mostly American but I've sen everything there)do the job. I provided a rebuilt head, elring OEM gasket, new bolts, etc. This afternoon same thing. I was going up hill or I might have made it home.Towed it home. Moisture under no. one cylinder at front (observed for a few weeks) no apparent loss of coolant, no milky oil (added 3/4 quart 2 days ago)some slight oil film on top of vcover - only noticeable because car looks junky but I wipe engine down often. I'm thinking of trying one of those head gasket leak sealers as temp. fix -you have to drain and fill w/water first, then use and replace w/anti-freeze. Volvo anti-freeze currently in unit.Comments?
