A leaking transmission I can deal with. I don't like it, and it ain't pretty, but I can deal with it. I don't know what to make of this.
I had a leak over a year ago that was mostly dealt with by resealing most of the transmission seals. Fine, all is good. It had a VERY minor leak, that eventually went away. I would check the transmission fluid regularly (for about a year), and the level would never drop. Four days ago, the car acted like there was no transmission fluid: slipping, not shifting, it drove like a Ford. I checked the fluid and, to my surprise, there was none. There's also nothing in my parking spot. My car sits for DAYS at a time undriven, so I would expect there to be some indication if it lost so much tranny fluid in less than three weeks that it won't even register on the dipstick.
Can a transmission 'weep' fluid that quickly? Is there anyplace for the fluid to go (i.e. is there going to be some part of the floor of the car or the driveshaft covered in tranmission fluid)? What has everyone else in this situation found?
Thanks.
