taillight out 200 1988

right rear taillight out. bulb and socket are good (work fine in left taillight). front right is ok, so I think I can rule out the fuse, which is clean. rewired the tailgate hinge a year ago.. could this be a culprit? maybe a corroded ground somewhere? thanks to all.
