Hi (I'm a n00b here), I'm the proud owner of a quite-rust-ridden 1989 760 turbo intercooler sedan. I consider buying a totally identical, almost rust-free car (we're in Canada so no car is totally rust-free) with loads of new parts to help my restoration.
Now to the point, the said car had an accident which damaged the cross-member. I'm not an expert, but after a good look under the front end of the car, I think I can manage to salvage my cross-member and bolt it on the other frame.
The problem is, I can certainly do it if I have the good part in mind. I have not seen the other car yet (it's quite a long drive), but I think the guy is talking about that framing that goes under the transmission, linking left and right sides of the frame, and to which control arms are bolted.
But is this framing really the cross-member ?
Thanks.
