So I was out running my morning errands and in the middle of it... the reverse inhibitor ring on the gearshift breaks! of course i'm parked forward...
having never taken the gear shift apart before i noticed when i pulled the head off the ring had some grooves on the side that connected to some metal rod that seems to have broken/snapped...
it's the good old m46.
will i have to replace the whole shifter? or just the rod for the reverse ring and get a new ring?
is there a way to get it in reverse in the meantime?
any idea how much this will set me back?
anyway... thanks... i expect that after 25 years and 235,000 miles things will break... especially plastic things... just bad timing... i was having such a good day...
