700 series differential cover differences?

hi,

i've finally narrowed down my diff leak to the actual cover as it's rusted through (not the plug, not the gasket, and not the sensor). i'm wondering if there are any differences among the 700 series diff covers? i know there are different gear ratios, but that's in the pinion, the pumpkin i assume to be the same thing. i have a 88 740 wagon auto if it makes a difference.
