Fuel Pump Relay ??? 200

I've got a 1985 GL that conked out on me after I let the gas get really low! Now, there's no gas being pumped but the fuses are good and the main pump runs when voltage is applied directly! It appears that neither pump is getting voltage and from what I've read, that points to the commonly failing relay. When I pull out and reconnect the relay, I hear it click. I just can't shake this feeling that it's not the relay ??? What say y'all ???
