Marathon day under my 965 S90-V90 1996

Hi gang, I got a free day yesterday and seized the moment to do some things for my '96 965 with 189,000 miles. Here they are-
Installed new engine mounts
Installed new sway bar bushings
Installed new front struts, mounts, mounting plates, bearings, bump stops
Installed new rear shocks

I had a devil of a time with the mounts. I couldn't jack the engine up without the entire car going up. I read and reread the instructions and then I caught my error - I had the car on ramps, not jackstands. After correcting that, it went well, no need to remove the oil filter as stated in the FAQ. The bolts on the drivers side are quite difficult to access, just exercise patience.

The front struts went well I THINK. One odd thing was that after tightening the big nut on the strut and releasing the tension on the spring, I could not manually turn the strut mounting plate on the bearing. I put all parts back exactly as they came out. Is this normal? Please advise on this. I assume it would loosen up with the weight of the car.

After the front struts, I found the sway bar bushings and rear shocks to be unbelievably easy to R/R.

Have a great week, John
