So this is in regards to the '69 parts car I bought.
It reportedly only has 70,000 miles on it but hasn't run for ten years. Was under a carport so only semi-protected from Midwest weather.
If I wanted to use this motor what steps should I take to restart. I would use my ignition and engine externals. Should I pull the head first to check for rust in the cylinders or just see if it still hand turns and go with it.
I'm not totally set on this idea but a B18 with 70000 miles seems like it would be worth running. But if it needs to be rebuilt I have a B20 that I can finish off instead.
The transmission is already out of my 122 so I'm thinking of just dropping in the parts car setup and running it for now. My current B18 has a pretty worn cam (at least) so its kind of a gutless wonder.
Thanks for any advice.
