quick question about how things should work...
Car in question is a '80 ('79 actually, but titled as '80) 244. Ran fine when parked about 5 months ago. Today, I went out to get 'er going, but alas, no fuel pump. So.. I was able to start it by jumping from another fuse to fuse #5, which is labeled as the prepump fuse. But that gets the main pump going, and it started right up. Without the jumper wire, no fuel pump. Furthurmore, I can remove fuse #7 (labeled as main fuel pump) with the jumper to #5 in place and it will keep running.
I stuck in a spare fuel pump relay I had, but it's not a known good one... my spare could have gone bad...
Any thoughts though? I suppose I could pull a known good relay out of a runner if only to confirm whether or not that's the problem...
