wiper actuator arm reattachment 200

1986 245, the wiper actuator arm cable sliped off the pully on the drivers side. I can get access once the instruments have been removed. My question is: is there a trick or method to reattaching the actuator arm cable to the pully. I am up for a frustrating proceedure but if someone has some guiding tips I am open to hear them.
