How much $$ for M41 trans? 120-130

The guy selling me the m41 for my wagon seems like a nice guy and I trust him as he restores a lot of classic Triumphs and is just cleaning out his garage to make space.

I wanted to see what you guys think a fair price for a m41 in nice condition should be...(not sure if the solenoid is working or not, still need to find that out)

He wants $450 and says that the market value is $750. Having only worked on VW's in the past , this seems a bit high.

I don't want to turn it down, but I am a college student / part-time intern, so funds are not unlimited. On the other hand I am in Texas , so finding a M41 locally might be a nightmare.
