Regina (in-tank) Fuel Pump Sound 900

Dear Fellow Brickboarders,

May this find you well. Can anyone describe in words, the sound made by a healthy fuel pump, from a Rex-Regina car, when it is NOT in the tank?

I understand that fuel pumps are not to be run "dry" - i.e., not submerged in gasoline - for more than a second.

Please describe the sound as:
(a) growl (low-pitched, like a Harley-Davidson)
(b) whine (like a 1/2" power drill)
(c) scream (high-pitched, like a power saw).

Thanks for your help.

Yours faithfully,

spook
