Vintage Volvo Security System 200 1984

Hello, I recently got a Volvo security system off of ebay. It is original Volvo part, but it didn't come with an instruction manual. I would like to use it even though it is quite low tech for this day in time. The system consists of a control box, a round horn, some door/bonnet/boot pin switches that wire to the control box. The packaging says it will "instantly alert you if someone is tampering with you doors, bonnet or boot.". The bonnet and boot part made it worth what i paid for it, even it I never make it work. Th control box comes with a couple of zip ties to hold it in place somewhere. It looks like it is simply a circuit that runs through the switch pins and it is broken when the door, bonnet or boot is opened, energizing the 'strident' alarm. My main question is, how do I turn this thing on and off. It has a switch on the control box, but I am a Little foggy on how I set it before I get out and how I deactivate it before I open the door, bonnet or boot.
Has anyone ever seen this old style Volvo security alarm?
Perhaps guidance to some operating instructions, or simply tips or experience with it? Thanks for your help and time, SRVD
