B230F power mods: Are they worth it? 700 1991

Hi everyone:

I am curious to see if anyone has tried any power/performance/economy mods to their non-turbo B230F bricks. Based on the owner's gallery it looks like some of you have. Were they worth the time/money? Any regrets? I know modding a non-turbo 2.3 liter 4 cylinder that pushes a 3000+ pound box with noticeable gains is asking for a lot.

In particular:

* IPD VX camshaft (Poor idle quality? Power increase?)
* IPD adjustable camshaft gear (results with or without the VX cam)
* Stock turbo exhaust adapted to fit (any noticeable difference? Loudness?)
* Cold air intake (Power increase? Driveability problems?)
* Auxillary transmission cooler (Is this needed for a sedan that does not tow?)

Thanks in advance,

Andrew S.
