92 940 turbo starts but won't run/idle/whatever 900

OK, wierd on here (par for the course for Volvos ain't it?). My well-running 3-months-since-purchased dealer-serviced-lifetime 92 940ti 142k took a hit in the battery when an Explorer turned left in front of me at an intersection. Battery was smooshed, but no damage to the frame rails or any other vital components. No fluids were lost (except the battery). Wiring harness shows no damage I can find. There were some ground lugs on the front driver's inside fender that have since been reconnected. I'm in a fight with the other driver's insurance company over value at the moment but want to get it started so I can put it in the garage whilst waiting (slight incline on the driveway, pushing is not an option for me).

Begin with a fresh, new battery, fully charged battery. Engine starts cold maybe 3-5 cranks (starter sounds) in, but as soon as the engine figures out it's "running" it shuts down. I can feather the gas pedal and get it to rev, but only for a brief moment. No cylinder misses while "running" are detected. Code reported is a 1-1-1. Restarting will do a "hard start" but it again will shut down immediately once "running". Additional starts will get an occasional firing, but no running until the engine gets a break. At that point you can smell gas -- it's flooded. Even starting without "helping" via the gas pedal will not keep it from flooding.

No vacuum leaks have been found, no air hose problems are found, and the intercooler (As well as the radiator and AC condensor) are still very much intact. I thought perhaps the computer might think the oil pressure was low, but that checks out ok. What should I start checking next??

Thank you!
