My wife drove the 1991 745T to her office yesterday, and it ran just fine. Went to go out to lunch and it would not start. Period. Had it towed home and notice the smell of gas. Now, I've looked at the FAQ about the ECU failure modes, and the "drove it and it worked fine, shut it down and it would not restart" sounds like ECU failure. BUT, don't they usually fail with dry injectors?
Is there anything I should check before I shell out for a used ECU? I've already swapped the radio supression relay with the identical relay on the other shock tower and it did not work. Should I check all the inputs at the connector to the ECU, and the OBD error codes too? Checked the fuel pressure regulator too, by pulling the vacuum hose, and no fuel came out, so presume it is good.
Any help would be appreciated because all three of our cars are now down. The RX-7 has a blown water seal, the Toyota, well it was my fault, but don't ask. Can't afford a rental car for too long, but hate to just blindly swap parts.
Thanks guys
