Hi everybody, I have a 1989 740. 8000 miles ago, I replaced the end links (scan tech) and added poly bushings for the radius rod, and the end links themselves. The end links are the straight threaded kind.
One of the end links broke already. Is this a common failure? Could i have caused this by an incorrect installation?
Another thing is, the poly radius rod bushings pushed the control arm forward, so the end link is not running perfectly vertical. Could this have put a bending force on the end link and cause it to break?
wondering if I should go back to rubber radius bushings when I replace the end link...
thanks, alex
