Battery/volts light illuminates briefly after I turn the car off - a concern? 200 1992

I've kind of ignored it for a while, but I thought I should at least inquire whether it's normal for the battery light to remain illuminated for a couple of seconds after I've turned the car off (key still in ignition)? I don't think it's related to the intermittent slow start/long crank issues I'm still experiencing, but who knows (just picked up a new fuel pressure reg. per guidance from the Board a couple of weeks ago to see if it solves that problem).

As far as I know, my battery is okay (voltmeter shows a consistent 12-14v reading), and I replaced the alternator about 10K miles ago. Should I be concerned that the light is staying briefly illuminated? Thanks for your input.
