Dolly-towing a 245 (manual trans) 200 1982

Hi All,

I'm looking at buying a non-running 245 (with M46 4sp+OD). I'm probably going to be limited to using a tow dolly, and will likely have to pull it about 200+ miles to get it home. I'm concerned that being towed nose-up for that distance may mean that the trans won't get the proper lubrication . . . should I drop the drive shaft? I figure that would be the "safe" thing to do, but I thought I should check with the experts.

Thanks in advance!

Steve A-
