VOLVO 960 LUXURY SEDAN :ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY

Recently, I discovered that the alternator is not charging the battery and it was indicated at the dashboard.A mechanic was asked to remove the alternator for diagnosis;we opened it up,removed the voltage controlled regulator unit.
This unit is not available locally.Please,where can I get to buy,I will prefer
a new one. Please help me.
