THREE Problems solved! 700 1989

Problem one, surging idle. Plug connectors from TPS pulled out after TB cleaning. This is why after I cleaned out TB it made the problem worse. Also complicated by Problem two.

Problem two, Hesitation @ 1000RPM. This was a timing issue. The timing was about 30 degrees BTDC and spec is 12 +/- 2 degrees BTDC! I noticed cam roll pin was bent after I removed it during t-belt change (replaced back t-belt cover). I can only conclude the PO had bent it somehow and timing was adjusted to compensate. When I did t-belt and straightened the pin it changed timing.

Problem three, RWD - Steering problems: Update/Possible solution. For the last 1 1/2yrs my car was easily pushed laterally on uneven/grooved road surfaces. Culprit? Bridgestone Potenza RE930i tires. Rotating the rear Toyo's to front has helped a great deal.

Thanks again for everyone who helped with these issues. The steering issue has made the car much more pleasant to drive.
