hola volvophiles,
my girlfriend's '86 740 (B230) is leaking massive amounts of oil. about a month ago i removed and cleaned all of the PCV components hoping that this would solve the problem, however, the leaks have only gotten worse. is it possible that the flame trap is causing this even though i was able to blow air through it after removed and cleaned it? all of the hoses and barbs are clean too. i cant figure out what's causing this. i'm going to replace all of the seals (front and rear main, cam, aux.) this weekend; and i'll be madder than heck if the problem persists afterwards, so i'ld like to figure out why this is happening. i've checked the distributor at the back of the head and no oil seems to be leaking from there.
any advice/clarifications/explinations will be much appreciated. i've plenty of B18/20 experience, but i'm a rookie when it comes to the later motors.
TIA,
ryan
