Hi,
I just bought a 98 V90 wagon sight unseen with 80K and a clean carfax. I am a Nissan SR20 geek, but I needed to find a new OEM to get into, as Nissan did not make a decent wagon. I also work on classic sports cars and I think I can handle the maintenance required myself. Based on my HW and feedback from friends it was either a 5-series or the V90.
I am still trying to figure out how to navigate this site and I am interested in any suggestions for that last once over I do on this car before I cut the check. My understanding is that there was a block problem (leaking coolant) that was solved ~1996.
1) Anything else I should look for right away?
I have a few other questions as well:
2) Where is the best place to pickup a service manual? (Is the Volvo DVD on Ebay good?)
3) What is the recommended interval for new trans fluid? Do I need special tools to get the old stuff out of the torque converter? ( forgive my ignorance I am a manual trans guy)
4) Where can I get the nice rubber floor mats and cargo area mats?
5) What are the best shocks for the V90? Does KYB offer anything for this car? ( I think this car may need struts and brakes for the mileage)
Looking forward to getting to know you guys!
Will
