Door release lubing 200

I am having a sticking problem with my release on the driver's door of my '88 wagon. Can I pull something apart and lube the mechanisms? One other post I put up about this a reply was that this is a heavy door with big parts and there is really no lubing you can do to it. I don't buy that, anyone else? It is sticking from inside and outside door releases. TIA!
