Scantech tailgate shock 700

I would appreciate if someone can tell me how to install a scantech tailgate shock for my 740 wagon.A previous Brickster had the same problem as me.The scantech shock has a tiny pin to lock it in place, while the old volvo shock has a flat clip that you just push in to lock the tailgate shock in place.Thanks and god bless.
