Stumbling idle 'GONE'! 900 1995

This is to update some idle problems I was having on my daughters 960 wagon with the B6304 inline 6cyl.After playing the replace this and that game I bought a can of carb cleaner.I sprayed the intake manifold and noticed it smoothed out at the front injector area.I rolled up my sleeves and went to work.To my amazement it wasn't as difficult as I had expected!I removed all the air intake tubing going into the throttle body.Remove the throttle linkage assemblies along with the fuel rail and injectors. At first I was concerned about the metal clamps that hold the rubber couplings for the intake plenum and the manifold.I decided that plastic ty-straps would work just as well. You will need a universal swivel for your ratchet to get to some of the bolts.Be very careful here because those bolts love to fall and dissappear into the bowels of hell. You may evn want to spray some lubricant around those rubber couplings so they'll slip out easier.I grabbed hold of the plenum then pulled and wiggled it away from the manifold. When I pulled the manifold off,the gasket was in about 10 seperate pieces.Off to dealer for a new gasket. It was around $16 including tax.You don't really need to do this, but to make sure,I put RTV on both sides of the gasket.I wasn't about to risk a leak!!.Put everything back together and erased all stored codes.Turned the key and it made the sweetest sound without any stumble at all.My daugthers been driving it for 3 days now without a problem.I hope this will help others who may be avoiding changing their own gaskets! Thanks again for the knowledge stored on this site by some great folks!
