One last bilstein question (well, maybe two . . .)

Hi all,

First, thanks to all for the advice so far. It's been a big help. Bilsteins (and wrench) arrived today--they'll go in on Thursday.

I'm getting conflicting guidance on whether to use the Volvo spacer rings (PN 1229423). The car is currently equipped with OEM twin tube shocks and struts, so I guess it should already have the spacer rings too.

Site where I purchased the shocks doesn't say anything about removing the rings, FPC site also implies that the rings are used (that they're needed for GLTs that had gas struts). However, the Bilstein application table says "100 -If equipped with original twin tube, spacer ring in base of housing must be removed." So, the question is, with the Bilstein HDs, do I use the spacer rings?

Oh, and the other question is, do I remove (and not re-use) the original Volvo strut boots/tubes--use only the new boots already on the bilsteins?

Thanks again--the help is appreciated!
