Strut/Shock replacement question 700 1990

I am the proud owner of a mint 1990 740 with 137000 on it. I bought it two years ago and have fixed a few things on it as it has needed. I have the Volvo bug for sure. This site has been a great help over the last few years.
The struts and shocks had been getting softer and softer and I finally decided to replace them today. The owner operator local Volvo shop put Borges on all corners and also replaced the front bushings, and a transmission bushing he said was gone. I pick up the car in the morning but I have a few questions for you guys.

1. Are Borges struts/shocks very good? Not sure if they are Turbo Pros or Gas Pros. I would like a firm but comfortable ride, not looking to set any new track records.

2. I have read about a rattling problem with the Borges, is anyone happy with these struts/shocks? The Volvo guy highly recommended these.

3. Does $724 seem like a fair price for parts and labor? It seems high to me, I had another shop quote me $500 for front struts (Monroe) and front bushings.

I am just curious, I like the local Volvo guy, he really seems to know his stuff and does not seem like he is out to rip anyone off. I'm just in a bit of sticker shock and I want to know I will like these Borges, but if I have been ripped off with junk shocks and overpriced labor I would like to know that as well.

Thanks
