Toasted ECU? 200

Well, Rover 2nd has been having lots of issues, mainly with the AMM and its connector. We replaced both the sensor and the plug. Before I read some advice on the board about not unplugging or plugging in the AMM while the car is running, we must have done this about 50 times. Also, the start of our problems was the red and white striped wire on the connector, which runs straight to the ECU.
The car starts right away and will idle for about 10 mins, then it dies. Restarts on the first turn, idles for about 5 mins, then dies again. Restarts easily, idles, dies.
IPD thinks the ECU is fried, told me to check the O2 sensor and if it checked good, replace the computer. Sound valid to everyone? Thanks!
