Brake Switch Failing on 960 900 1997

I believe I have a failing brake switch. After reading past posts and seeing that this is fairly common, I have concluded the brake switch is most likely the culprit. I would like to try and replace this on my own as I see the part is inexpensive. I was looking under the steering column area/brake pedal area, but am unsure which part is exactly the brake switch. So how do I find the brake switch in the car and access it? Can I purchase a brake switch at an auto parts store or do I need to order a special part from Volvo? Is there any wiring involved? Thanks for any info!
