Metal Shavings 900

I just changed my engine oil and I noticed some metal shavings in the pan after draining out the oil.
What am I facing here, a possible main bearing change or what? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

If the metal looked like flakes then it is probably a bearing. Check and see if it is ferrous or non-ferrous (a ferrous metal is attracted to a magnet and most likely is an engine component in contact with something else). If your oil pressure is still up and there is no knocking sound from the engine bottom end (most noticable when your pull the throttle up and let off. At the no load point a rod bearing will rattle; under load a main will knock), then put a magnetic oil plug in to keep the trash out of the oil passages. If you have low oil pressure or a rattle, start looking for a motor.
