Oh, the wonders that Jarrod hath wrought! But, I suppose, given time, I'll find my way around in this new and improved(?) format. I posted a question that, admittedly, does not quite belong in this forum, but this is where I usually get much appreciated help, so I decided to try my luck here first. Alas, my post seems to have migrated to an obscure nook of this Board, and I can't find it, and any possible response, back. Please, bear with me as I repeat my tale, and if you come across it somewhere else, well, you'll know how come.
All right, I'm the epitome of the komputer klutz, but I actually managed, after three years of failed attempts, to get a picture of my PV into the Gallery. I was so pleased with myself that I tried to add that photo to my "Profile" as an avatar. The result of that effort was that I posted the same picture for a second time in the Picture Gallery. Someone, please, have pity on me and explain how I can accomplish that feat (adding a photo to an avatar) in very, I repeat VERY, simple terms. There are no fourteen-year-olds in this house, so I have no one around to help me navigate these treacherous waters ;-). BTW, I've studied whatever instructions I could find on this Board, and I've gone back to a couple of previous postings on related subjects, but all to no avail -- I'm still in the dark. :-(
Thanks,
Bob S.

    Bob:

    1. At any forum index page look at the column of text on the right side. Click on the link for [USER TOOLS]. This will take you to the logon page.

    2. If not already logged on to the board, enter your username and password and click on the logon button. This will take you to the user options sheet.

    3. Just below the Brickboard ad there is a row of text links. Click on the [CHANGE MY USER INFO] link. This will take you to your personal data sheet.

    4. In the PICTURE URL field, enter "/IMAGELIB/images/5210.jpg" without the quotes.

I picked up your image number from the gallery.

This worked for me. I hope it works for you too.

    Best regards,

    Joe M

Thanks, Joe, that did the trick. Interestingly enough, I tried the manoeuvre while I was using Safari as a browser (faster with Apple), and all I achieved was a nice question mark. "How appropriate" I thought and was ready to let it go at that. Then, as a last resort, I switched to Explorer, and that worked. It would be easy to say that Safari was the problem all along, but that wouldn't be right. My own, earlier, unassisted efforts didn't even produce that nice question mark ;-) Now I can start working on sending illustrations with my posts -- watch out, take cover!!!
      Thanks again,
      Bob S.

    Bob
Your previous post ended up in the RWD (rear wheel drive) forum.
Don't go to a specific model, just RWD.
Others have come up with suggestions in that thread.
