Lights on warning no longer dinging

My wife's 83 volvo no longer dings when she leaves the lights on and the keys are pulled out of the ignition....this has cause her to elave her lights on quite a bit and run the battery down.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Jonathan

    Roll fuse 4.

The "Dinger" or buzzer is also the way to signal that both brake lights are out. For that reason, get it fixed. Maybe you can put in the thing that makes a nicer dinging tone in place of the irritating buzzer.

The relay that "Hear T T Y" refers to is an excellent feature. We drive 1986 and 1988 240s, love it. BUT - no help if wife.sig leaves the parking lights on.

    Good Luck,

    Bob

I'm going to blindly assume you have a 240.

    Buzzer relay isn't working.

I'd yank it and have a look. Maybe replace it.

(It's a problem I'm dealing with my self, as I've left the lights on a couple of times since my buzzer stopped working.)

I'm thinking of adding a relay system to my headlights so that they won't be able to turn on unless the car is on (similar to how the '86 and later 240s are set up.)
