I recently suffered a catastrophic tranny leak. Ive located te possible source. I looks like a plastic cone shaped stepped plug with a hole in the center of it. Sort of looks like drill all. It either had something connected to it or who knows but ive narrowed the leak down to this location using a mirror and light. If anyone has a schematic of the aw70 tranny or any advice, it is sorely needed.

I do not have a schematic but do have a couple of these trannies to look at out of the car. Where is the plug in question, front or rear and what side? I'll be happy to take a look and post a picture.

its a white colored nozzle on the driverside of the tranny right over the shift linkage. Thanks. i just flushed out the fluid and it was poo brown, so im going to continue to flush it till its clear red again!

Sounds a lot like the solenoid valve: maybe six inches to the rear from the shift linkage input shaft going into the tranny? A sort of cylindrical thing pointed down with a wire going into the top and bolted to the tranny case using two screws?

I think that this may be an AW71 from an 87 745T, but it looks the same as my 944 and 245 N/A car's transmissions. I do not see what you are describing around the shift linkage. Perhaps someone else can help.
