does anyone knows? what it takes to replace this plates?, at the front strut towers bottoms ,where the spring is compress .... mine are starting to rot , i can get new ones from fcp but are they screw on or weld on ?

They weld on, you've got to cut the old ones off - without cutting too deep and going into the strut tube - then you hammer the replacement down flush against what remains of the old one & weld it. My mechanic can do them quite quickly, without even removing the strut from the car. I however would just change the strut with a good used one.

Do you mean the seat that is welded to the strut shaft and on which the spring sits? May be better to pick up a complete unit from a PickNPull from a newer 240.

When they suddenly let go, they hit the tire, forcing you to have a tow.
